Disclosed are non-dusting, electrically conductive carbon black agglomerates containing 75-95 wt.% of carbon black and 5-25 wt.% of a water soluble polymer composed of alkali metal - or substituted or unsubstituted ammonium - or free acid derivatives of a partially esterified α-olefin-unsaturated polycarboxylic acid copolymer, with the α-olefin containing 6 to 40 carbon atoms and at least 80% by weight of the non-esterified copolymer having a molecular weight of 1000 to 100 000. The agglomerates have a BET surface ≧ 250 m²/g, a DBP abs. 100 cm³/100 g, a wear resistance of 0,4% (as measured according to the Roche wear resistance test), and a Heubach dust content ≦ 0,55%.Also disclosed are processes for the preparation of the agglomerates and use of the agglomerates in the preparation of anti-static and/or electrically conductive synthetic materials and rubbers.
