The present invention relates to a method for automatically classifying a blood vessel lumen based on an IVOCT image, capable of remarkably reducing the probability of a misdiagnosis. The method comprises: a step (1) of detecting a blood vessel lumen in an IVOCT image; a step (2) of extracting morphometric characteristics of the detected blood vessel lumen; and a step (3) of classifying a normal blood vessel lumen and an abnormal blood vessel lumen. In addition, the present invention relates to a system for automatically classifying a blood vessel lumen based on an IVOCT image, which comprises: a detection unit detecting a blood vessel lumen in an IVOCT image; an extraction unit extracting morphometric characteristics of the blood vessel lumen detected by the detection unit; and a classification unit classifying a normal blood vessel lumen and an abnormal blood vessel lumen.
